Snowy fun in "Cartinthia's mountains"
If you think that a lake district can only be lovely in summer, you need to think again! Lake Millstatt – Carinthia's jewel – is also incredible in the colder months. Surrounded by the Nock Mountains, this is where you will find pure leisure time fun.
The promising ingredients in our recipe for success are true hospitality, a familiar atmosphere and the highest level of comfort, 400 km of perfect ski slopes, numerous ski tour routes of all levels of difficulty, winter hiking trails, Nordic sports, places to go ice skating, sledging hills, sleigh rides and so much more.
Picturesque winter in the Nock Mountains
Breathe in the fresh winter air and relax in this beautiful winter wonderland. Bad Kleinkirchheim, the sun-drenched ski resort in the Nock Mountains winter sports region, features 26 ski lifts and cable cars, more than 100 km of slopes and Carinthia's longest ski runs. This World Cup ski resort scores points not only with its beautiful pistes, but also with two thermal baths.
In winter, Lake Millstatt shines just as brightly as the excited eyes of children. Little ones can play in the snow whilst parents relax on the terrace. Sledging, long winter hikes, romantic sleigh rides with a stop at a rustic chalet and a snowball fight here or there will be so much fun that your day will fly by.
Fun, games and hospitality
Build a snowman in the morning, go ice skating indoors or outdoors in the afternoon, see a film at the kids' cinema in the evening and then enjoy a special kids' menu at a richly-set table. Many nearby chalets tempt families on hiking and sledging tours with Kaiserschmarrn pancakes, cheese dumplings and hearty alpine meat and cheese boards.
The spa at the Familiengut-Hotel Burgstaller provides plenty of hard-earned relaxation after a fun winter's day: look forward to a trip to the sauna, a massage and a four-course dinner.
